ST's MME Evaluation

I have just completed 300 hours under the MME device and 35 hours of EECP treatment.  I do not know if I can separate the effects of these two treatments.

Before I started the treatments, I had some chest pain and shortness of breath.  This was within a month of having two stents implanted in the Toledo hospital.  I was concerned as after the previous 4 operations, I had always recovered to 100% and was at "full power".

Shortly after I finished the EECP, my shortness of breath and angina were gone.  Also gone were leg cramps and feet pain.

I feel that the results of MME will be a damage free heart.  This will take some time - maybe 6 months.  I had a resting sonogram today and will have a stress test in 2 months to see what the progress has been.

I have tried normal farm work (8-10 hours a day) to see how the body holds up.  Jobs include doing such tasks as garden harvesting, barn building, carpentry, and firewood cutting.  As long as I'm doing these jobs pressure free, I'm OK.  When I'm under stress, I do develop an uncomfortable feeling in my chest and have to rest for 2-3 hours.

I also have started wearing an aura circulation patch that will hopefully stop the plaque from building.

Thankfully and Magnetically, TS  10/24/04

P.S. MME is a tough treatment for a patient like me that is used to being outdoors and moving around.  Thanks to the home style environment (blankets, desserts, refrigerator, microwave, books, easy chair for my wife), the 7 weeks did go by faster.  Also thanks for the personal attention and care from every person on the staff - it was really appreciated.  It's nice to come from a hopeless environment (Jackson doctor and a Cleveland Clinic physician who tell you that you are going to keep having heart attacks and then you will die) to Dr. Roberts who is on the leading edge of heart care with a "can do" attitude.  I don't expect miracles but I feel comfortable that Dr. Roberts and staff are doing everything that can be done.
