MME Practice Policies

AMRI of NW Ohio is a clinical research facility, embedded within Comprehensive Heart Care and the EECP Center of NW Ohio.  We have developed the following policies to ensure that the best care can be given to our MME patients, without compromising our ability to provide the same for the patients of Comprehensive Heart Care and the EECP Center.

Schedule:  AMRI of NW Ohio operates 24 hours daily on a 7 day a week basis.  MME technical staff are available at the facility on an around the clock basis (clerical and administrative staff is available only during office hours Monday through Friday).  Treatment may be scheduled during the day in 4 to 6 hour blocks or at night in 10-12 hour blocks.

Patient Responsibility:  MME time scheduled for you cannot, at short notice, be used to treat another patient.  MME time, scheduled but not used, is lost time.  MME machines are expensive and their overhead is considerable.  If you come in late or miss a session, that is your prerogative, but you will be charged for the scheduled MME time (if you miss a session due to adverse weather conditions you will not be charged for the missed time).  Please review our Financial Policy carefully.

Kitchen:  Pleased be advised that kitchen facilities are here for the convenience of everyone.  If you wish to use the kitchen, you are responsible for bringing your own food supplies, as well as for clean up.  We do provide plates, silverware, glasses, etc. for your convenience.  A microwave is available for your use.

Food:  You must provide your own food and drinks.  Water and coffee are available.  Food items should be labeled and kept in a bag or container in the cupboards or the refrigerator.  Please respect other patients and family members.  Use only your own food and beverage   Upon completing your course of MME, please discard or take with you your personal belongings and food supplies.

Entertainment:  Patient treatment rooms are furnished with a TV, VCR/DVD player, and a tape player; we are hooked up to cable.  If you wish to bring your own videotapes and/or DVDs, radio, books or magazines, please do so.  We find that entertainment is often helpful to the patient.

Bathrooms:  The treatment facility is furnished with a bathroom with a shower (handicapped equipped) for your use. Please furnish your own personal hygiene products.  Towels are provided.

Accommodations: Patients and caretakers will need to make residential accommodations if coming from out of town.  There are several hotels/motels in the general vicinity of AMRI of NW Ohio, as well as extended stay hotels in the area.  We can and will give you the name, location, and phone number of these establishments, but we ourselves cannot be responsible for your accommodations.  Patients who are to receive at least 12 hours of MME within each 24 hour time period may stay at the facility (but your "on" and "off" times and use of adjunctive treatments will need to coincide with the Comprehensive Heart Care day staff schedule).

Laundry: AMRI of NW Ohio does not have laundry facilities for patients, family or visitors.

Telephones:  Telephones and office computers/faxes are for office business and not available for patient or caregiver use.  If you wish a telephone, please use your calling card, cell phone, or other phone facilities.

Children:  Children receiving treatment must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver at all times.  We suggest you bring entertainment for all children/siblings (toys, videotapes, book, etc).
